Almost 6 years ago I was offered a position at GSK and a friend of mine (disgruntled friend... GSK IT Support Person... was laid off after many years of service) said, "Go right ahead and take that job... but I'm telling you right now... they'll LAY YOUR ASS OFF!" She was right.
I haven't written in a long time. I've been struggling with the thought of losing my job. Knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was pretty much inevitable that it was going to happen this time. I simply could not compete with scientists that had double digit years of experience in the Metabolic Diseases area. To be honest, I didn't want to be selected into the new organization. My heart hasn't been in my work since I left oncology. SO...I am going to look at this as an opportunity. I have NO DOUBT that I will land on my feet ... in a good place.
I have a couple of legal meetings left at GSK - one in the morning... one next week and then I'm done.
That's fine with me :) I'm officially on vacation :) Leaving for the Smokies tomorrow. Will be trout fishing with my dad in approximately 40 hours. Having a camping sleep-over with the sweetest little man in my life (Xander :). Riding my mountain bike at Tsali/Fontana/Kitsuma/Curtis Creek/Blue Ridge Parkway. Spending time with my family on a camping trip. Spending time with Stephanie and her family at Holden Beach.... and OFFICIALLY training for the ORAMM! (That's just in the next 10 days!)
I had a second phone interview with Gilead today. It went VERY WELL. I honestly admitted to royally screwing up the 1st one... so I can humbly say I rocked on this one. So, I'm planning on being flown out to Denver in a couple of weeks... I've never seen Colorado in the summer :)
SO... I am done at GSK... I am okay... I'm ready to play.
Everybody made me feel really loved today... it helped me a lot... thank you ;)

Good to know that Branson, Rascal, and Bailey could be there for you in your time of need!
You are loved, girl. And your attitude is truly inspiring.
Go catch some serious trout!!!
Camping trip was wonderful! Don't forget that Daddy and Jody owe you supper for catching the most fish!
It was really nice getting to spend time with you and I know Xander loved all the attention from his aunt "Louie"!
I love you!
